DUMMERSTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A court date is on the books for a man accused of rear-ending a school bus while driving impaired.

On Monday just after 3 p.m. Vermont State Police responded to a report of a crash on Route 5 in Dummerston. Police say 62-year-old Douglas Pond of Putney rear-ended the Freightliner Bus leaving it with minor rear-end damage.

There were no injuries reported but it’s unclear if there were children on the bus at the time. Police say Pond showed signs of impairment during sobriety tests. He was processed and released and is expected in court on January 30th.
