BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington has a lot of old homes in need of some love. Dario Guizler is just the man to give it.
Renovating aging housing stock takes hard work, and Guizler is the definition of hardworking. He grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Montevideo, Uruguay, and came to the United States at age 18 in 2003. Two years later, he moved to Burlington, where he learned carpentry from his mentor, Bill Fagan.
Seven Days’ Eva Sollberger hired Guizler a few years ago to renovate her old house in Burlington. A week ago, she caught up with Guizler as he tackled an aging abode in Burlington’s Old North End.
