VERGENNES, Vt. (WCAX) – Protestors tried to block entry into Collins Aerospace in Vergennes Monday afternoon – calling for an end to violence against Palestinian people.

The group blames the company – which is a subsidiary of RTX – for supplying weapons to harm civilians in Gaza.

RTX and its subsidiaries produce parts for fighter jets that have been used in the Israel-Hamas war.

Around fifty protestors tried to stop workers coming into the facility during the afternoon shift change.

The groups says they wanted to hold the protest on martin Luther King Jr. Day – because they say the company does not reflect the dream he had for the country.

“As Dr. King said an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, so we have to stand against it and that’s what we’re doing,” protestor Stoni Tomson said.

“And these jobs, making weapons, with our tax payer dollars to fund a genocide – we deserve better,” protestor Theodore Wheeland said.

The protestors said they hoped to give a voice to Vermonters wanting a ceasefire through their demonstration.
