BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A South Burlington teen faces attempted murder charges after police say he repeatedly targeted a pedestrian with his car in downtown Burlington.
It happened last Thursday morning just after 2 a.m. Burlington Police say Hamza Velic, 18, of South Burlington, made multiple attempts to strike the victim with his car, including driving onto the sidewalk at the intersection of Church and Main Streets and sending the victim through the air. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
Velic was arrested on Friday and is due in court on Tuesday.
Police released no details on the motivation behind the attack.
