MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – New legislation is aimed at keeping Vermont kids safe online and protecting their privacy.
Sponsors say the Vermont Kids Code would require Big Tech to implement basic protections for children, and it holds them responsible if they put kids’ well-being at risk.
It comes following a lawsuit about social media’s impact on the health and well-being of children in which Meta was sued for intentionally designing addictive and harmful products.
