MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – State leaders want to remind everyone in Vermont that we all have a right to privacy.
Attorney General Charity Clark on Friday held a press conference at the Statehouse in honor of Data Privacy Day, which is Sunday. It’s an international event aimed at improving privacy and data protection.
Vermont lawmakers highlighted House Bill 121, an act related to enhancing consumer privacy.
Clark says 13 other states have similar bills.
“I truly believe that privacy is a Vermont value. It’s right there in our state motto: freedom and unity. We all deserve the freedom to have our privacy be our own, our data be our own. That’s why we are promoting increased privacy protection for Vermonters,” said Clark, D-Vt. Attorney General.
