
ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – A Winooski man faces aggravated assault charges in connection to a shooting in Swanton in October.
Vermont State Police say Tyshane Smith, 21, was the “main antagonist” in the shooting of Cooper Bergeron, 19, of Swanton, on October 7. The shooting took place at a home off Route 7. Police say Smith and Dakota Beams, 22, of South Burlington, fled the scene. Police say Beams is still wanted for questioning.,
Smith, who was also allegedly involved in a 2021 gun incident inside the University Mall in South Burlington, is due in court on Wednesday.
