BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A change is coming to the plans for Burlington’s CityPlace construction.
A new development agreement has been struck that would add at least one hotel to the project. If the Burlington City Council signs off on the plan, there could be up to 350 hotel rooms in addition to the at least 350 housing units within the development.
CityPlace partners will also operate at least 80 units of affordable workforce housing that will also fall within inclusionary zoning in the city.
A hotel once was intended to be included in the project, but plans changed when the local development team took over.
The hotel plan came back following months of work to secure financing for the final part of the project, and says that partnering with a hotel was the best way to get the project finished.
