SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Do you know how you’re getting home from your Super Bowl celebrations?
On one of the biggest drinking days of the year, it’s easy to get carried away cheering on your team. But police want Vermonters to have fun responsibly. South Burlington Deputy Chief of Police Sean Briscoe says that means pacing yourself and thinking ahead.
“Make a plan of how people are going to get home rather than thinking that they’d be okay to drive with one or two cocktails,” Briscoe explained.
Briscoe recommends choosing a designated driver or taking a rideshare or public transit. He says law enforcement across the state are amping up patrols and setting up checkpoints to prevent DUIs this weekend.
