BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Farmers, gardeners, and more agriculture enthusiasts get to share ideas and network at this weekend’s Northeast Organic Farming Association winter conference.

It’s a two-day event where people learn about agriculture in over 40 workshops.

Farmers faced a devastating season after the July flooding. This year’s conference will focus on what they are doing to move forward and hopefully have a better growing season when the weather gets warmer.

“We need to continue finding ways to build relationships with the earth and with each other so that you know the way that we eat can be healing to the earth,” NOFA-VT Executive Director Grace Oedel said.

Roughly 1000 people attended the event.

Working upstream is theme for the 2024 conference — to focus on food system issues.
