NEWPORT, Vt. (WCAX) – Four people, including two children, fell through the ice on Lake Memphremagog Saturday, according to the Newport Police.
Police say they responded around 5 p.m. that a side-by-side vehicle had fallen through the ice on the South Bay, plunging four victims into the water.
When officers arrived, police said all four victims were out of the water and that a three-year-old victim was receiving chest compressions.
Police say the child was rushed to North Country Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. They were reported in stable condition.
