BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) – Authorities say dozens of dogs were seized from an animal shelter in New York’s North Country on Monday.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office says deputies served a search warrant at “A Canine Gem” on Ashely Road in Beekmantown at about 8:30 a.m.
They seized 49 dogs from the shelter.
A veterinarian, a vet technician, New York Environmental Conservation Police, the SPCA and local animal control assisted law enforcement at the scene on Monday.
We expect to learn more details about the seizure on Tuesday morning when the sheriff’s office gives an update on their investigation.
