SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Air National Guard plans to conduct night training for the next two weeks.

The Guard says the night flights of the F-35s will run March 5-7 and March 12-14, with jets taking off between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The training will end by 9 p.m. each day.

Guard officials say the flying operations enhance readiness and sharpen the skills of pilots under the cover of darkness.

“Training in various conditions enhances our ability to respond swiftly and decisively to any situation,” U.S. Air Force Col. Brian Lepine, the deputy commander of the 158th Fighter Wing, said in a statement.
