NORTH CLARENDON, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities are investigating a threat Wednesday night targeting students at Mill River Union High School in North Clarendon.

The Vermont State Police say investigators contacted the suspect who allegedly made the threat on social media — as well as school officials — and that they have taken steps to mitigate the threat. There was no immediate information on the nature of the threat and police are not releasing the name of the suspect due to their age.

Classes and other school functions are proceeding normally on Thursday.

VSP officials say they are coordinating with the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department and Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office on the matter.
