
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington Police are investigating after reports of a shooting downtown early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Main St. between Church Street and South Winooski Avenue, at approximately 2:18 a.m. for a report of gunfire.
Police say shortly after they arrived on scene, a male arrived at UVM Medical Center’s Emergency Department with a gunshot wound. He was later determined to be the victim of the shooting that occurred.
The victim, who has not been identified, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and discharged.
According to Burlington Police, surveillance footage indicates many people in the area of the shooting. They encourage any witnesses to contact them at 802-658-2700.
Police have not specified if anyone is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
