Region braces for major snowstorm

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Now that spring has arrived, our region is expected to get hit overnight with what could be the biggest snowstorm of the season.

The National Weather Service has issued multiple Winter Storm Watches and Advisories for the WCAX region, some calling for totals upwards of 18 inches.

The action is expected to begin around midnight on Friday with heavy snow changing to a wintery mix later on Saturday.

The wet snow will combine with low visibility to create dangerous driving conditions and is also expected to cause power outages.
