BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Bike enthusiasts gearing up for Burlington’s first bike park.
It’s coming to Leddy Park in the New North End, just a few pedals away from the bike path. The project is the joint effort of Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront and Burlington Bike Park Coalition. Organizers say they envision a trail that flows from the bike path, through the southernmost woods and back onto the bike path for all bikers to enjoy.
“The overall vision of this is to make sure it’s as accessible as possible and to have sort of a family-friendly, family-focused, entry level kind of experience,” Max Madalinski with Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront said.
Madalinski says they’re currently requesting proposals for the park design. He hopes to bring the path to life by next year.
