Construction flagger hit by car in Bridport

BRIDPORT, Vt. (WCAX) – A construction flagger was struck by a car while on the job Thursday afternoon.

Vermont State Police say 30-year-old Connor Joy of Bennington was stopping traffic on Vermont Route 125 in Bridport when he was hit by a Dodge Ram truck.

The driver of the truck was identified as 75-year-old James Ross of Middlebury.

Joy was taken to UVM Medical Center for abdomen and leg injuries, and Ross was taken to the Vergennes Police Department for further investigation.
