BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Legendary Vermont blues musician Joe Moore has died.

Moore, a WCAX Super Senior in 2022, grew up in the south but migrated north, and since the early ‘70s had called Vermont home.

Moore grew up in an all-Black community in Winter Park, Florida, and hit the road with his sax at age 17. He later headed north joining big bands and eventually landed in Vermont, where he was a fixture in local venues for decades, playing and singing the blues.

His family announced his death on his social media page earlier this week. Moore had been suffering from health issues for a few years. He was 75.
