BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Ben & Jerry’s is going green – and we aren’t talking about pistachio flavor.

According to Senator Peter Welch, Ben & Jerry’s facilities in St. Albans and Waterbury will be getting federal attention to help cut down their carbon footprint.

That’s thanks to a Department of Energy program to help decarbonize energy-intensive industries.

This initiative will help Ben and Jerry’s and other Unilever ice cream manufacturers upgrade their equipment to reduce emissions.
