BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The New Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in Burlington welcomed a new pastor into their family just in time for Easter celebrations. Pastor Rene Chandler comes from Chicago and now calls Burlington his home, and he says he’s delighted to serve the only Black church in Vermont.
“You know I’m very excited to be the new pastor here. It’s a great group of individuals who embrace me and love. They got a great foundation, it’s already set,” Chandler said.
The church has been around for 35 years, and Chandler says he looks forward to working with this community.
