SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The South Burlington community has again voted down their proposed school budget Thursday night.
The vote was close, with 1,427 people in favor of the reformed budget and 1,577 voting against, a difference of only 150.
This budget would have reduced the property tax increase from 23% to 14%. It also would have cut about 1.6 million dollars, but even then, the owner of a $500,000 home would pay more than $7,000 in property taxes.
