BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont man has been sentenced for firearm and meth possession offenses in Massachusetts.

According to Massachusetts officials, 43-year-old Jeffrey Baird was sentenced to four years in prison.

Baird had been pulled over back in December of 2021 in Northampton, Mass. for driving with a fake paper license plate taped to his back window. Once the officer discovered he was also driving without a valid license, Baird was taken into custody.

That’s when 207 grams of meth and five rounds of ammunition were found in his vehicle, and 3 rounds were found in his jacket.

Police say Baird was banned from possessing firearms due to previous offenses, and the value of the meth in his possession is estimated between $6,000 and $10,000.
