ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – Police are searching for a St. Albans man they say torched an RV back in January.

The Vermont State Police say Thomas LaPine, 36, is wanted in connection with a suspicious fire the morning of January 24 involving an RV near Nason Street and Vivian Lane.

They say while the fire was being put out, a nearby home was burglarized. Police say the homeowner pointed out LaPine as the suspect. As police attempted to detain him, they say he resisted arrest, assaulting the officer and the homeowner.

LaPine was cited and released on charges including burglary and aggravated assault. Now, police say he is also wanted for arson.
