BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont woodworker was part of a New England team helping to rebuild Notre Dame in Paris after the cathedral suffered a devastating fire in 2019.

Will Gusakov worked on the timber frame medieval roof system that was first built in 1200. His team hand-hewed all the timber joinery and assembled them at a workshop in Normandy before they were shipped to Paris.

Cat Viglienzoni spoke with Gusakov about the honor of being picked for the unusual job.
