Burlington airport sees record numbers from eclipse visitors

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport saw record numbers of people for the total solar eclipse last week.

On April 8, the airport saw more than 700 takeoffs and landings throughout the day, with no deviations or incidents. On a typical day at the airport, controllers see about 300.

The airport’s director of aviation, Nic Longo, applauded the collaborative efforts between the various teams at the airport for the day’s success.
