PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Officials say a security lockdown at the hospital in Plattsburgh has been cleared.
The main campus of CVPH was locked down on Monday morning. We don’t yet have any details on what prompted that lockdown.
At about 10:30 a.m., the hospital posted an update on social media, saying the security lockdown was clear and thanking police for their quick response.
Earlier Monday morning on Facebook, CVPH said the lockdown was to protect the safety of patients and hospital workers.
They advised patients with appointments and procedures scheduled on the main campus before 10 a.m. to call before going.
WCAX News is working to gather more information about what prompted the incident Monday morning.
The lockdown comes just two months after police said a possible mass shooting was prevented at the hospital.
Police said they stopped Robert Thibodeau, 52, an armed and disgruntled former CVPH employee, about a mile from CVPH on Feb. 13. Investigators said he intended to open fire on hospital employees, angry that he wasn’t considered for a promotion.
Robert Thibodeau faces multiple charges, including counts related to criminal possession of a weapon and planning to use a gun against another person.
