ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – The teen arrested in Vermont last week in a New York City murder was back in front of a judge on Tuesday, and court paperwork confirms a criminal connection to Burlington.

Police say Christian Concepcion, 16, of the Bronx, was involved in a March 2023 shooting at a smoke shop in Queens that left one man dead.

He was arrested Friday in Enosburgh after state and federal law enforcement executed an arrest warrant at a home on a rural road.

Tuesday, we learned that Burlington police were at that arrest in Enosburgh and court records show Burlington police knew Concepcion from prior drug and firearm investigations.

He continues to be held in Vermont while he awaits extradition to New York.

We also learned that during that arrest in Enosburgh, Jayden Miller, 19, also of the Bronx, was hiding in the same bedroom as Concepcion. Miller is also wanted for questioning for his involvement in two separate shooting incidents in New York. He currently faces one charge in Vermont of giving false information to police but he didn’t show up to his court appearance and there is a warrant out for his arrest.

Court paperwork from Burlington police says they collected evidence from the two New York teens which included a loaded gun.

We have reached out multiple times to Burlington police to learn more about the connections to cases in the Queen City but had not yet heard back when this story was published.
