BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after a fire overnight at Virtue Field on the University of Vermont campus.
According to the Burlington Fire Department, crews responded to Virtue Field just after midnight for a reported structure fire in the dugout next to the soccer field. Firefighters determined the fire to be coming from an equipment shed next to the press box.
Crews were quickly able to knock the fire down, and there were no injuries.
Fire officials say the fire is being considered, “incendiary” and is being investigated by the Burlington Fire Marshal, University of Vermont Fire Marshal, and University of Vermont Police Department.
