CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – New Hampshire delegates will be seated at the Democratic National Convention this summer after all.
The Democratic National Committee last year threatened to penalize the Granite State for holding its first-in-the-nation primary first, despite the fact that the party’s official first contest this year was in South Carolina. Despite President Biden’s name not being on the ballot, he easily won with a write-in campaign.
DNC officials this week announced they would allow New Hampshire’s 34 delegates to attend. The question remains what will happen during the 2028 election cycle.
”There is going to be plenty of time to worry about that after the election. Right now we are really focused on saving democracy in November — that’s really our top priority — because if Donald Trump is president, it doesn’t much matter,” said N.H. Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley.
The Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago in August. The Republican National Convention will take place in Milwaukee in mid-July.
