BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – We may have some wet weather in the forecast this weekend, but in some areas of the state, it will be raining rabies vaccines.
For the second year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services and Vermont’s Department of Health will carry out bait drops.
About 264,000 oral rabies vaccine baits will be dropped in parts of Chittenden, Lamoille, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties.
Officials say it is important because of an ongoing rabies outbreak.
The first bait drop will be tomorrow and another will take place in August.
