PLATTSBURGH TOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) – Plattsburgh Town officials are looking for public input on a plan to revitalize the downtown.
Officials say an upcoming community forum will look at future projects that could transform the town through a state $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant. Areas of focus will include Champlain Centre Mall, Consumer Square, and farmland.
Town Supervisor Michael Cashman says recreation and housing will likely be a key element of any plan. “I think other municipalities have failed by not leaning in, by engaging the community directly. The Town of Plattsburgh, the work that we do, we plan the work and we work the plan, and part of that process is we engage the community members directly,” he said.
