Wrong-way driver stopped on Interstate 89, Vt. police say

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont man faces charges after police say he drove the wrong way on Interstate 89 in St. Albans Wednesday morning.

Vermont troopers say they got numerous reports of a driver headed south in the northbound lanes between exits 21 and 20 at about 11:15 a.m.

They pulled over Daniel Bartlett, 79, of Swanton. Police do not believe he was impaired.

Bartlett was cited for careless and negligent driving. He’s due in court in July.
