PERU, N.Y. (WCAX) – A Peru, New York, man was charged on Friday with murdering his wife and dumping her body in the trunk of a rental car.
Scott Tyrell, 58, pleaded not guilty in Peru Town to 2nd-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse. Police say he strangled his wife, Lisa Dashnaw, 57, sometime between March and April. Her body was found in Town of Plattsburgh Tuesday in the trunk of a rental car that was last rented to Tyrell.
Police say Tyrell was picked up during a traffic stop Friday morning in the city of Plattsburgh.
He is next due in court on June 11.
