BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Those with asthma can breathe easier thanks to work from Senator Bernie Sanders.

Senator Sanders applauded the decision from a major inhaler manufacturer, Boehringer Ingelheim, to cap out-of-pocket costs for asthma and COPD inhalers.

The new policy would cap the price at $35 for name-brand inhalers.

Sanders says that 25 million Americans have asthma and another 16 million have COPD and rely on inhalers to breathe.

He said AstraZeneca and Glaxo-Smith-Kline will follow suit in the coming months.
