
MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Flood recovery has been underway for almost a year, and now more funding is on its way to communities to keep it from happening again.
Governor Phil Scott and Vermont Emergency Management announced the funding earmarked for hazard mitigation to prevent future flooding.
The $90 million in federal funding from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is dedicated to hardening infrastructure and providing voluntary buy-outs for homes in floodplains.
