PLATTSBURGH, Vt. (WCAX) – A historic Plattsburgh building known as the Boathouse will soon be a pile of rubble.
Georgia-Pacific announced demolition is scheduled to begin this week and be completed by August.
The building was originally used to manufacture boats and marine engines and later used to ship out luxury cars known as Lozier’s.
Now the company says the historic building is no longer needed and is not suited for any other functional use.
Georgia-Pacific is coordinating with the city of Plattsburgh to minimize the impact on the community and work out traffic management around the building.
