Burlington off-duty cop pleads guilty to motorcycle speeding incident

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – An off-duty Burlington Police officer has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a motorcycle speeding incident last October.

Three motorcyclists were clocked by a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy going over 100 miles per hour in a 35-zone on Swanton Road in St. Albans. The operators were identified as Burlington Police officers Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McGee, and Burlington firefighter Joshua Porter.

The Caledonian Record reports Bauer of Swanton, pleaded guilty to negligent operation on Wednesday. Officials say he will lose his license for 30 days.

Reckless driving charges against McGee and Porter are still pending.
