BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The strike deadline for Canadian border agents has been set.
Upwards of 9,000 Canadian border services agency workers are negotiating with the Treasury Board of Canada, which oversees the CBSA, over pay, and other benefits.
In a press release, members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Customs and Immigration Union, say they will begin job action across the country starting this Friday, June 14 at 12:01 a.m. if an agreement is not reached.
Because they’re deemed an essential service and cannot strike, the CBC reports there is a strong possibility they will take other work-to-rule actions that could cause delays.
