PITTSFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – A fire destroyed a historic home in Pittsford.
Crews were called to the fire at a home on the corner of Pleasant Street and Route 7 on Monday afternoon.
Pittsford’s fire chief says no one was home at the time but four dogs died in the blaze.
Officials say a double metal roof on the home caused issues battling the fire and led to multiple crews from neighboring towns being called on to help.
The home is a total loss and the investigation into the cause is ongoing.
