BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont author is out with a new book inspired by her childhood.
Celia Ryker is the author of “Big Guy: A School Horse Story.” It tells the story — in his own words Big Guy, a thoroughbred who goes from being a show horse to become part of a herd of well-tended school horses for young riders.
Ryker’s previous book, “Walking Home: Trail Stories,” was a memoir of what it’s like to hike the Long Trail as a 60-year-old with health challenges.
