MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont Wildlife officials want to send you on a wild goose chase.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife is again asking for a few dozen volunteers to help round up Canada geese to receive identification bands. The annual banding helps researchers track harvest rates, survival rates, and the overall population of the birds.
The roundup will take place Wednesday, July 3, at 8 a.m. at the Dead Creek Wildlife Area in Addison. Volunteers will need to wear appropriate clothing and boots, adequate sun protection, and bring drinking water. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
