Vt. regulators to gather input on ‘health system revitalization’

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont health regulators are gathering public input next month on options to revitalize the state’s health system.

The Green Mountain Care Board care board meetings are the culmination of a months-long process of collecting input on how to keep the state’s hospitals operating in the face of steep financial headwinds.

GMCB officials say nine of state’s 14 hospitals had negative operating margins last year and that it comes at the same time as Vermonters are facing increases in health insurance premiums.

Darren Perron Spoke with GMCB Chair Owen Foster about the process and what’s at stake.
