MIDDLESEX, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle crash on I-89 in Middlesex Wednesday morning.
DMV officials say the driver of a broken-down pickup was parked on the shoulder of the southbound lanes when it was clipped by a passing box truck. The pickup went careening into the bushes and the box truck ended up on the nearby railroad tracks.
Authorities say the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Traffic is down to reduced lanes as the crash scene gets cleaned up. Railroad officials are also expected to assess potential damage to the tracks.
