New funding headed to UVM’s Community News Service

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New funding is on the way for the Community News Service at the University of Vermont.

Some $7 million will go to the National Center for Community News to increase university-led reporting programs around the country. The funds are from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation and UVM.

The goal of the funding is to triple the number of programs and students doing student journalism around the U.S. and in Vermont.
