Vermont 211 resumes 24-hour coverage

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – As of July 1, Vermont 211 is resuming 24-hour coverage.

211 is Vermont’s one-stop number to call for information regarding community, health, human services and disaster response.

For much of its history, the system operated 24/7. But in June of 2023, the United Ways of Vermont announced it was scaling back the call center’s hours in response to a change in its contract with the state.

The program’s executive director says the newly restored hours are thanks to an appropriation by the state Legislature.

Vermont 211 is now running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
