COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) – Search and rescue crews are looking for a missing man Wednesday morning in Lake Champlain.
Colchester Police say crews are searching in the Malletts Bay area for a man in his 30s who they say wasn’t able to make it back to his inflatable raft. Officials say he was swimming with his kids and using the raft. They say one of the kids went into distress and the man assisted the child back to the raft but he did not make it back on.
The search is based out of the boat launch in Mallets Bay, where crews started arriving shortly after 9:45 a.m. West Lakeshore Drive in Colchester has been closed.
