WINOOSKI, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont police are searching for a man who allegedly led multiple chases in a stolen vehicle on Tuesday and nearly caused several crashes.
Vermont State Police say Andrew Brace, 39, of St. Albans, was driving a stolen Ford F-250 when he led pursuits through Swanton, Fairfield, Georgia and St. Albans Tuesday. They say he nearly caused several crashes and intentionally drove at police, forcing them off the road.
Troopers say the pickup Brace was driving was later found abandoned in Winooski. They say Brace tried to steal several other vehicles on Tuesday, including by force, and should be considered “extremely dangerous.” They warn people to lock their cars and to be aware of their surroundings.
Investigators say Brace has had multiple confrontations with police in the past few weeks. He’s the same man wanted for allegedly dragging a police officer with a vehicle in Colchester last month and for a recent incident in Berlin.
Brace is about 5′11″ and weighs 220 lbs. He was last seen wearing black athletic-style shorts and no shirt and is believed to be on foot in the Winooski area. If you see him, police say to immediately call 911 or the state police in St. Albans at 802-524-5993, or leave an anonymous tip online.
