Officials urge people out of work due to flooding to file for unemployment

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Some Vermonters are left without work this morning as businesses pick up the pieces from last week’s floods.

If that sounds like you the Vermont Department of Labor is urging you to file for unemployment.

People who lost their jobs cannot reach work because of damages or cannot work because of flooding conditions should file as soon as possible. The Department of Labor recommends calling at non-peak hours, Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to avoid long waits.
