Men suspected of hiding murder victim’s body plead not guilty

NEWPORT, Vt. (WCAX) – Two Vermont men accused of hiding the body of a Northeast Kingdom woman who was murdered were back in court in Newport on Thursday.

Aaron Camp, 34, of Derby, and Terron “Josh” Pendleton, 34, of Waterbury, both pleaded not guilty. They’re facing accessory to murder charges in the 2023 murder of Kayla Wright.

Camp is being held on $10,000 bail.

Pendleton is being held on bond, meaning he could post $2,500 to get out. The judge said Pendleton’s involvement in the case was not as serious as Camp’s, and that he helped the state bring charges against the man who police say pulled the trigger, Jakiy Tramaine Corey Keith.

Wright, 29, of Derby, was found dead in a large toolbox in the Missisquoi River in February. She had been shot to death.
